Rep. DeMint forgot that for the Duke of Wellington, Waterloo wasn't too bad a thing.

2. Maybe their friends in the health insurance biz can take them out for
lunch, since they'll be celebrating the increase to their already fat wallets.

8. The health insurance companies are soon to be riding the tiger.
They have ceded control of their future.

9. How so? They were handed the American public on a silver platter.
No stretching or twisting will make it any different.

12. And they have tied their future to the Federal Government.
They no longer have control over the future direction of their own area of enterprise.

From this day forward, the government of this country will indirectly control the daily business dealings of health insurance companies in this country.

Citizens will see the benefits derived from these reforms, and will clamor for more.

3. DeMint learns the answer to the question:
"What if Obama had a B-52 at Waterloo"?

5. Lulz.
Always remember that calling your opponent names has very little actual effect if he can still kick your sorry ass.

7. Oh, yeah, the Republicans are playing possum.
They are shitting in their pants.

This HCR bill is the beginning of the end of the reign of insurance companies controlling health care in this country.

The Federal Government will now be in control of their destiny; they will play ball or cease to exist.

10. This is Newt's plan. June 2008
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 03:28 PM by Edweird
"The reality of an individual mandate (when coupled with subsidies so that insurance is affordable and market reforms so that coverage is accessible), is that it would not only address the "free rider" problem, but also serve as a tool to enhance insurance market competition. When combined with market reforms and subsidies, the mandate would help move insurers away from a business model that relies on marketing and underwriting and towards a strategy that involves competing for customers based on performance and price. This is a good thing...and something those in favor of market competition could get behind."

11. Not one word about outlawing recission.
Not one word about pre-existing conditions.

Not Newt's plan.

13. Yeah, it is. Mandates, subisidies, faux 'reform'. Actually, the senate bill is to the right of Newt.
He only wanted to mandate those making $75,000+/yr. No union busting/screw the poor like the senate bill. How's it feel to be to the right of Newt Gingrich?

BTW, that's exactly how the r's will be back in power. Fake republicans vs. real ones.

14. And time will prove you wrong.
Keep your bitterness close around you, it might keep you warm on these chilly spring evenings.

15. Nah, it's not 'bitterness', it's disgust at watching members of the 'left' support far right policy
