2. Report it to the admins.
Ads are posted without human pre-screening - based on keywords. If you notify the admins that an ad is offensive they will review the ad and can block ads from that source if they agree that it is not appropriate for DU.

It only works if you actually notify the admins - they don't see all the ads, and don't necessarily troll the threads for complaints about the ads.
