WASHINGTON -- On the day that President George W. Bush is scheduled to receive the Iraq war funding bill from Congress, a White House spokeswoman reiterated that the president will veto the bill.
"He told the Congress weeks ago that he would veto a bill if it came to him in the form that it's coming," spokeswoman Dana Perino said at Tuesday morning's press briefing. "He's going to make good on that."
The bill is scheduled to arrive at the White House at 4 p.m. EDT Tuesday, and Bush is scheduled to make a statement to the nation at 6:10 p.m. EDT.
