Poll question: How often do you "get in people's faces" with your political views
And, while we are on the subject, how effective is getting in people's faces on political issues?

2. My vote isn't listed: Never. If you have to get in someone's face, you've already lost
No matter what the issue is.

5. Well
everyone once in a blue moon someone gets all up in my face. Normally I just let them vent and move on. But once or twice in my lifetime I just been down to that one last nerve anyways and handed their crap back at them with a nice little sarcastic factual zinger. Granted it makes no difference on their point of view but I sure feel better. :)

18. I think you're right...
If you're looking to argue for the sake of arguing, go ahead, but if you're actually hoping to convince someone, it is, IMHO, self defeating.

3. The "polite silence" of liberals over the last 35 years has been a large contributor ...
... to the advances of fascism in this nation. The presumed moral superiority of a liberal position is absolutely no excuse for the elitism and condescension toward those with the gonads to get out into "harm's way" and "disturbing" the indolent and complacent.

4. I don't get into people's faces because it is not effective.
How effective is it to those here when somebody does that? If it is an issue that you might be persuaded to look at a different way, having somebody get into your face about changing your mind or about how they feel is more likely to get you to solidify your position than to change. Of course, few things are absolute, but getting into people's faces about your political views is probably the worst way to make friends and influence people.

8. Not much since I retired. But, some of my neighbors fret over having a socialist in the 'hood.
I spared them worrying about bombs by not telling them I'm an Anarchist. They would have trouble differentiating between Gandhi, Tolstoy, vs Nechaev, Makhno, and Zapata.

17. You're the one who asked first.
Did you not create this poll? Or was that the poll fairy?

11. If somebody gets in your face, just keep calmingly debating your points.
If he takes a swing at you, well, that's up to you to decide what happens afterward.

12. Only if someone is foolish to spout off about what a great
pResident bush** is or how we're making the world safe for mankind.

I live in Nebraska. I could do it daily if I felt so inclined. We have a lot of whack jobs here.

14. Everytime I go to the store...almost!
;)

I did it just yesterday but not in an angry way.
Kept running into a woman at the grocery store and she kept asking me
where certain foods were, as she was not used to shopping in that store.
Then I ran into her on the paper/cat/dog food aisle. She was upset and
afraid to choose a brand. She began mentioning foods being imported
and why wasn't the FDA checking and letting everyone know??
I said, "Well; you know who's fault that is, don't you?"
She responded with a chuckle and after a slight pause...
"Oh yeah! I get ya!" and then she winked!

I'm greeted almost daily, by a guy at another local store,
"What's going on today in politics with *? Tell me!!"
So I do and I give him websites to visit. ;)
He also laughs when he asks. He's a nice man, from Egypt(?)
I think, and he works 12 hour days and misses the news as a
result. He'll be able to vote in two more years.

15. I try to avoid getting in someone's face if at all possible, but there
have been a couple of times when I was "baited" into an argument over politics (same person both times). I should have just kept my mouth shut, but they just kept on and on and on.

Then I unleash a can of verbal whip-ass on them that leaves the whithered.

19. Almost never
Highly ineffective - it just annoys. If people want to learn some more about an issue, that's fine; if they don't, that's fine too. You can't force someone to change their minds.
