Will the Dems cut the Iraq war funding or will they cave and rationalize their decision? |
|
When I told a Republican friend that if the Democrats cut the funding for the war, then Bush would leave the troops there and blame the Dems for what goes wrong. My friend said that I was talking out of my ass and that Bush would never leave the troops there unfunded. Would he, or not? Or is it a moot point since the Dems will cave in and provide funding anyways? Who will blink first? I am afraid to look.

1. I'd hope that after watching RatBastard's veto photo-op tonight |

that they'd seriously consider pulling the plug. The propaganda and lies and high crimes and misdemeanors will continue until they take away the charge card ...

2. The fact that people ask this question reflects more on the Dem leadership than anything of Bush. |
|
And I find that kind of sad in a way. If somebody isn't willing to take a stand and fight, they likely won't win many votes at all.

7. I think it is less about standing and fighting than having their fingers in the wind. |
|
We had and have Senators who claim they were fooled into supporting the Iraq War Resolution, but they are sorry about it now (if even that). Many regular folk saw it was wrong at the time and were not fooled. Ted Kennedy was not fooled and neither was my Senator Feingold. I wonder why they were smart enough to not be fooled? It would be nice for our leadership to do what is right and not to always have their fingers in the wind, but I guess they feel that is their job.

I hope that they realize that.

8. Depends on their loyaltys. The good of the party vs the good of the country. |
|
The moderates will be whining that "practical politics" demand a "compromise" (aka - caving in and giving Bush the dough), the evil, unAmerican, Osama-loving, unPatriotic, leftist, "French", AmericaHating, effeminate, (have I left any out?) progressives will fight it out.
