When all is said and done, I think Nancy will deserve more of the credit
for getting this done--than even President Obama.... What do you think?

2. agree...the process is much harder than it seems
i am pretty sure obama has sincerely given her credit, and the people that know ultimately understand what her contribution is.

3. Well, she is part of the legislative branch.

It is her and Harry's job to get it through, and I am glad that they have.

More credit? Perhaps.

Obama would sure have gotten more of the blame had it not gone through, but it still has to be passed.

10. WTF? No one is saying Obama does not deserve credit...
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 09:56 PM by hlthe2b
YOU ARE WAY OFF BASE. (and I find it personally insulting, given this was my OP!) You have NO basis--NONE-- for EVER suggesting I am (as you say an "imbecile Obama Hater). You need to get a grip.

11. I didn't see Pelosi on every show on TV and make two major Presidential addresses to Congress.
But I would imagine that most people who still supported Hillary in June of '08 will give Pelosi the credit.

12. Why are you doing this? Why can you not give credit to
Pelosi's incredible task of "whipping" the votes. She personally took it upon herself to do so with 68 no or undecided Congressional Reps. That takes nothing away from Obama, but are you really so misogynistic that you can't give her some credit? This has NOTHING to do with the primaries or Hillary. It is about fairness in recognizing her contributions.

13. Why can't you give Obama any credit?
You're the one saying that one person deserves more of the credit. I think that's very unfair after the effort Obama made. Not to mention that Pelosi's poor track record before Obama became President suggests that she isn't the reason things changed.

15. Saying she got us over the line in the House is hardly "giving Obama
no credit." You know damned well that what you said of me is grossly UNTRUE and UNFAIR. Your disingenuous attitude is actually deceitful. You should be ashamed for trying so hard to incite such dissent among those who are your political allies. Despicable.

14. +1000
Yep. It was never a foregone conclusion the House would go along with this. Especially after they passed their fairly good bill and then wound up having to vote for the odious Senate bill. The President wouldn't have gotten it without her. And we can hope he'll remember this the next time the progressive caucus needs a little support. Cause this was not the bill they wanted.

16. Nancy Pelosi is attacked almost daily by the far-Right hate hosts,
which is an excellent gauge of her worth to the process.

On this very long effort she scored big.

Hats off to the Speaker of the House.

24. The potential is there. But we're not there yet.
We haven't saved as many lives as we allowed Bush to take. I propose a 10:1 redemption rate. They have to save 10 lives for every life Bush took. 1.5 million Iraqi's and over 4,000 American soldiers. 3,066 on 9/11 due to his refusal to act on the known hijackings. 1,500 in NOLA. That's 1,508,566 lives Bush took. 15,085,066 lives she has to save.
