1. Imagine how America would feel during/after the stock market crash of 2008 if

the GOP had privatized Social Security in 2005.

I wouldn't laugh about that just yet
It's on the DLC's list. Has been for years. And when they do it, it will be spun like a top, just as this insurance company fellation was.

We will be told it is the best thing for the country. We will be told there is no alternative. We will be called "fucking retards" when we object to it. And in the end, they'll probably get away with that too.

3. SS will NEVER be privatized
not without a fight anyway. I would be willing to lay down my life in order to prevent the social safety net of last resort to fall into the hands of Wall Street pigs.

4. Now that the super-rich have forced the Individual Mandate on us.
Gutting Social Security is next on the agenda.

8. The DLC will get to privatizing SS soon.
And the fanboys will be telling us how good it will be.

9. Good analogy
I know how I did feel watching Ted Kennedy put up one amendment after another to make the bankruptcy bill less harsh - to see all of them fail. It was sickening, but, bad as it is, nowhere near as big an issue as this - your analogy is perfect.
