My daughter won't be kicked off our insurance for graduating early!! |
|
Edited on Sun Mar-21-10 11:17 PM by K8-EEE
My beautiful smart daughter has been taking a huge course load to graduate collEge at age 20. But our insurance only allows for her to be included in our policy to age 19 unless she is a full-time student. THANK YOU DEMOCRATS I don't have to worry about her insurance coverage between graduation and finding a job.

1. My son's life just got a whole lot better. |
|
He just graduated from college after fighting back from a brutal assault that left him paralyzed. Even though he's back on his feet after two years in a wheelchair, his pre-existing condition is irreversible. This bill makes him insurable and probably more employable.

2. Yay! Was thinking the same thing about our graduating senior... |
|
and our junior, and the other two behind them. Especially with this economy they really need to be on our policy!

5. My daughter will be able to take care of herself. |
|
She has a chronic illness that will ultimately require a liver transplant. Until tonight, she has been caught in an impossible bind:
Take care of herself by taking a part time course load her body can tolerate but forfeit health insurance
OR
Maintain a full time load which her body cannot handle but keep her health insurance.
She no longer has to make that choice, and she is free to think about pursuing a career as a starving artist without worrying that she will be unable to pay her $60,000 a year bill for health care.

...and who were all those freaking idiots that said there would be no help for several years? I immediately know 15 people in my immediate circle for friends that can rest a little easier tonight because they are being helped come Tuesday :) (isn't that when Obama actually signs the bill?)

7. One less thing to worry about .... |
|
I have been investigating insurance options for college graduating students, and the prospects were looking dim. The only real option available appeared to be COBRA and the cost was going to be prohibitive.
And you are correct in thanking DEMOCRATS .... not a single Republican voted for this.

9. That alone should offer some relief but some will complain. |
