Politically speaking, this closes the "enthusiasm gap" |

Most polls have shown a pretty even split between whether voters say they'll vote Democratic or Republican this fall.... but that the Republican voters have been much more "enthusiastic" about it and therefore more likely to show up at the polls.
Even if this doesn't move the needle much, I have to believe there are less depressed and dejected Democratic voters than there were a week ago.
We were looking at a 6-8 seat loss in the Senate and a 30-45 seat loss in the house if this bill failed.
Now... I would guess a 2-3 seat loss in the senate and a 10-20 seat loss in the house.
The President's party almost ALWAYS loses seats in the midterm, but this is a manageable amount and preserves a solid majority.

I hope the Dems pass legislation that is simple for the average person to understand. And I hope the wording is such that the Repubs look like the greedy people they are when they vote.
