Excuse my shallowness, but one of my greatest satisfactions in the passing of this bill is |
|
watching the smug Republicans squirm in utter defeat.... cryin in their beer.

I wonder if they will be laughing as hard when they realize many of the people "covered" in this "universal plan" are still dying because they cannot afford the high costs.

http://www.txhealthpool.com/01-01-2010_Regular_Rates-Instructions_Posted_11-17-09.pdfNote the date those rates took effect. They won't change. But of course it's selfish for those with preexisting conditions and lower wages to hope for more. Yay! Go Team D!

I think the moment they decided to "improve" on the current DISASTROUS for-profit situation, it was a no-win.

10. true. As disappointed as I can be in our Democratic leadership, it would be worse to have |

the likes of Boner (spelling intentional) in power.

2. That was better than almost anything else...really... |
|
That, and the knowledge that they probably guaranteed the bill's passage by NOT denouncing the crazies who taunted the Parkinson's guy and screamed at Lewis, Cleaver and Frank.

11. Obama needed a legislative victory |
|
If this bill had failed, IMO the odds of Obama passing any other meaningful legislation (example- Cap & Trade, immigration reform) are zilch.
Pretty sure that's how they screwed over Jimmy Carter, who had a lot of good ideas IMO, but couldn't get any help from Congress.
