3. Thank you Skittles.
I wonder if they will be laughing as hard when they realize many of the people "covered" in this "universal plan" are still dying because they cannot afford the high costs.

Note the date those rates took effect. They won't change. But of course it's selfish for those with preexisting conditions and lower wages to hope for more.

Yay! Go Team D!

7. it will be an eye-opener
I think the moment they decided to "improve" on the current DISASTROUS for-profit situation, it was a no-win.

10. true. As disappointed as I can be in our Democratic leadership, it would be worse to have
the likes of Boner (spelling intentional) in power.

2. That was better than almost anything else...really...
That, and the knowledge that they probably guaranteed the bill's passage by NOT denouncing the crazies who taunted the Parkinson's guy and screamed at Lewis, Cleaver and Frank.

4. It might indeed be the one thing truly enjoyable about this day.
If only this bill had been what they claimed it was. (especially that "socialized medicine" part) :evilfrown:

11. Obama needed a legislative victory
If this bill had failed, IMO the odds of Obama passing any other meaningful legislation (example- Cap & Trade, immigration reform) are zilch.

Pretty sure that's how they screwed over Jimmy Carter, who had a lot of good ideas IMO, but couldn't get any help from Congress.

He was beside himself that this bill would pass.
