We are not done. In a new email Alan Grayson keeps the pressure on.

In 1968, a ten-year-old boy had to go to the hospital four times a week for treatment. Without that treatment, he had trouble breathing, and he felt like he was suffocating. Because he was suffocating.

His health care was covered by his parents' health insurance. But then they lost their jobs. They were worried about how they would pay the rent. He was worried about whether he would live or die.

How can we let a 10-year-old think about such things? Whether you are Democratic or Republican, left-wing or right-wing, liberal or libertarian, you know in your heart that that's wrong. And it's what you know in your heart, your empathy, that makes you human.
I was that 10-year-old boy. And I haven't forgotten.

That's why I support universal, comprehensive and affordable health care for all American. For you. For me. And for sure, for my five young children, and yours, too. The supposed "sins" of joblessness, homelessness and poverty, those "sins" of the parents, should never descend on the children.

I'm fighting for a decent life for all, especially our children. That's why I voted yes on today's health care reform bill. It's an historic first step. Historic.

But we're not done. The framework for a comprehensive health care system is in place. Now we must finish the job.
Our Medicare You Can Buy Into Act now has over 80 cosponsors in the House and over 40,000 citizen cosponsors at WeWantMedicare.com.

It's a simple bill, to let you and me buy into Medicare. You want it, you buy it, you got it.

Let's do it,
Rep. Alan Grayson

5. The term "party loyalists" isnt definitive. The New Democratic Party
has two very distinct wings. The left and the blue dogs. Who are the "party loyalists"?

9. Those DLC types who insist we stay on message, in particular
but in general, when I use the term "party loyalist" it means someone who puts party over the common good.

16. Ironic
That the blue ticks wanted to stay on message when their message was confused and deliberately vauge.

2. You're done
They're done. We're done. It will be fortunate if the reconcilliation bill passes.

8. I always wonder how someone can tell another person that what that other person
just said about themselves, e.g. "I am not done. I will continue to ________________", is wrong.

Like someone who would say such a thing ("You're done.") to another person (who is saying something ABOUT THEMSELVES) knows more about what that person will and will not do than the person who is making the statement, "I'm not done", KNOWS about him/herself.

Talk about arrogance!

You also have to be arrogant enough to claim absolute omniscience about how every last one of an infinitude of potential actions will play out with every other potential action AND you have to close the timeframe to one of YOUR choosing.

So, tell me, how in the Hell did you get to be so fucking ALL POWERFUL and ALL KNOWING? I honestly want to know, 'cause I seriously want to consider drinking some of THAT! kool aid.

10. It's called analysis
The job of an analyst is, in effect, to predict the future. You can piss in the wind all you want, but I'd suggest it's a pretty forgone conclusion you're gonna get wet.

Or, are we just supposed to take your Almighty Word for it?

18. NAFTA
These kind of bills don't get fixed, not right away. It was such a long and hard slog to just get it passed, the leadership in congress isn't going to want to go back and re-open this. There are other priorities and much of the leadership is sorry they tried in the first place. They all want to get elected and they are already worried this bill is going to hurt them, they won't want to "double down" on it.

13. There is no such thing as a political "hero", there are only greater and lesser degrees
of corruption.

4. Lookin' forward to hearing about Grayson's money-bomb.
I gave and I have a question: Do they ever get "matching" deals when they do this kind of fundraiser, from the heavy-hitters that is?

17. Well, I signed on days ago. Why do I get the sinking feeling
--that this is going to wind up in the trash pile with single payer, the public option, lowering the Medicare age, drug reimportation, stripping the insurers' antitrust exemption, etc, etc.?

21. Sure, health care reform has gone down to defeat, and you're cheering
Obviously it is going to take awhile for most people to realize they aren't getting anything much, and that's the time for another push.
