Propaganda about Hate Crimes Laws

Contrary to what the RW'ers say, hate crimes laws do NOT punish speech.

They act as something to add to the charge.

A bigot can be a bigot.

A racist can be a racist.

A homophobe can be a homophobe.

They can be whatever they want, as long as they do not maim, injure, or kill the people that they hate so much.

The proposed hate crimes laws do not punish speech or thoughts, but rather very violent criminals. I think this is progress.

We're being ADDED to laws that already exist to protect other groups.

The House vote is this Thursday, isn't it?
