My RW coworker just said Cleaver shouldn't have put himself in that position so he could be spit on
I said "He shouldn't have been walking across the street from his office to the Capitol?"

RWer: "No he shouldn't have taken the position he did on the health care bill"

Me: "And because he did, it's okay to spit on him?"

RWer: "Well he should know how hateful some people can be."

Me: "So you are saying he should have anticipated someone spitting on him? And it's his fault it happened?"

RWer: "Oh come on you know what I mean!"

Me: "Yes I think you're saying a black man should expect to be spit on and should do what he can to avoid it."

RWer: "Well you know what's neat about this bill? My son can stay on my policy till he's 26. I like that!"

Me: "You can thank your congressman. He's the one they spit on."

3. That type of RW logic can be applied to one murdered, raped or whatever, it's
the victims fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's what always gets me about RW's, their logic is almost always flawed for the stances they defend IMO.

15. Stupid idiot brought it up
I usually avoid political conversations with the woman cause she makes me nuts. But this one just blew me away. And when it was over, another co-worker who heard the whole thing told me "You won that round!" :)

9. He likes that he can keep his kid on his policy.
But still opposes the bill and thinks it's okay that someone spit on his congressman. How do these morons manage to tie their shoes in the morning?

12. With them it's always about ME ME ME. I recall layoffs at work, unemployment and all,
Edited on Mon Mar-22-10 12:22 PM by RKP5637
the republicans I knew who always bitched about taxes, unemployment benefits, SS, Medicare and all were first in line to understand all of the benefits and to make sure they got every penny of their share.

And some of them still unemployed switched to the democratic party, they got their share of grief and then decided, well, maybe some of the democrats' ideas aren't too bad. They were the smart ones, the fools remained RW'ers. Some RW people just can't be helped IMO.
