Poll question: So "YES" or "NO" - do you support the HCR bill that was just passed by the house
I'm curious to see where DU stands.

You don't have to start a flame war here - we have 20 threads for that already. Just vote.

If you are so inclined to share your vote then do so.

There is no middle ground - either you do or your don't support it.

1. I DO support real health care reform...this bill just isn't it.
Your poll choices don't match your question.

4. HCR bill that was just passed by the house
it's pretty basic - either you support it or you don't. Not talking about what you wanted in the bill, what could come down the pipe line.

it's an easy question - try not to read too much into it.

9. Then your choices should have read "I support this bill" and "I do not support this bill".
It's entirely possible to support "HCR" and not support this bill.

12. Frankly, it's a push poll.
If you don't think that's a big deal, that's fine.

24. This bill is not "reform"

"If Barack Obama’s bill gets changed to exclude the public entities, it is not health insurance reform…it rises and falls on whether the public is allowed to choose Medicare if they’re under 65 or not. If they are allowed to choose Medicare as an option, this bill will be real health care reform...."

- Howard Dean

And, yes, your wording is a push poll.

And, what the hell is it with your "Oh pul-lease..." ?

10. In other words - the OP posted an intellectually dishonest poll.
Yes, I support HCR.

No, I do not support this bill.

7. Your question does not match your poll.
I support health care reform. I do not support health insurance industry giveaways.

Unless the bill 1) offers a public option - the stronger the better; and 2) subsidizes ONLY not-for-profit insurance, then this is NOT health care reform.

15. Yes because I'm tracking the answers and sending them to the HCR police to have your butt hauled in
:eyes:

It's a DU poll not rocket science.

I find it odd that those who support the bill recognize this as another fluffy little poll and those who vote no are pretty much the type of anal retentive people who would rather leave the system AS IS in hopes that one day we could have the ideal congress pass something that might almost make them happy.

Whatever, get over it

25. Whatever
I don't think you'd support anything the dems do because for some of you anti-HCR folks - if it's not perfect you'd rather have failure. You'd rather let people keep suffering then to provide some help. The "All or Nothing" attitude doesn't work. Look around - there are at least a dozen threads started by folks who either themselves or a loved one will benefit immediately from these changes.

38. Yes you got me, I sat around all day wondering "What could I do that'll be sneaky"
You read to much into it

And you know what's funny - I might have changed it if it wasn't for the anal retentive. But then again this is the same group that holds their breath waiting for the perfect congress & perfect president to pass the perfect health care reform. Might as well wait until all the planets in all the universes are aligned. They would rather let millions suffer waiting for some form of health care just to please their egos

Get over it.

36. Yes
And I'll be the first to admit I think it's far from perfect, but it's a start. After 30 years of economic terrorism from the right starting with Reagan, I think the political Stockholm Syndrome we find ourselves in is going to require a continuing process to rid ourselves of. I sincerely hope last night was another step toward that goal.

40. I voted no.
This bill leaves millions of Americans behind. Even with this bill 23,000 million American will continue to die for lack of health coverage. This bill still does not make health care affordable for millions of working and middle class families who are folding undering medical bankrupty and into poverty.

I don't think it is fundamentally unjust and unfair to send so many Americans to the back of the buses for a decade or MORE because of lack of affordable health care.
