Whatever ideological credibility "small government" types had in America |
|
Edited on Mon Mar-22-10 12:45 PM by howard112211
was lost to me the moment the entire lot of them remained dead silent when the biggest ever extension of "government influence on private citizens" in American history, the PATRIOT act, was passed. I'm no longer listening to anything they have to say. All they are to me is looney background noise that is best ignored. It's over. They had their chance to be what they claim they are and they didn't deliver. All they are doing now is making even bigger fools of themselves.

1. The only "small government" that Republicans of all stripes |
|
believe in these days is a government out of regulated big business.

2. They want the government kicking down clinc and hospital doors to stop abortions |
|
and having the police conduct investigations when women have "suspicious" miscarriages and government mandated vaginal exams to make sure women don't have abortions.
That's what the anti-abortionists want anyway, even as they howl for small government--for corporations.
