Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) has come forward and admitted that he was the one who yelled "baby killer" during the House debate on the health care bill last night.

In his statement, Neugeubauer said that he meant to refer to the bill as "a baby killer," not Stupak himself. That said, he has apologized to Stupak.

NEUGEBAUER STATEMENT ON HEALTH CARE FLOOR DEBATE

"Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health care bill that my constituents fear and do not support. In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase 'it's a baby killer' in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership. While I remain heartbroken over the passage of this bill and the tragic consequences it will have for the unborn, I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself.

"I have apologized to Mr. Stupak and also apologize to my colleagues for the manner in which I expressed my disappointment about the bill. The House Chamber is a place of decorum and respect. The timing and tone of my comment last night was inappropriate."

1. Oh, so WE all made the mistake of thinking it referenced Stupak? He's sorry for OUR mistake?
I love this stuff.

2. Gee, maybe his constituents "fear" the bill because
he lies about what's in it? Ya think?

6. I still have not been able to
figure out how this bill has tragic consequences for the unborn. I heard some GOP congressfool last night talking about abortion on demand up until the time of birth. I doubt he could cite one actual example of abortion on demand happening in the 8th or 9th month.

Baby killer. :eyes: Geez these people are stupid.

7. I realize the Pubgs are all kind of disappointed that they didn't
bring down the horrible Dem President with their anti everything tactics, but IMO this bill will actually reduce the # of abortions. I have to believe that at least some women decide to abort because of not having ins. and not being able to afford to have a bby delivered because of the cost!

14. MSNBC is growing an audience and she doesn't help the growth
She is more of the same right wing spin. Greenspan admitted that his 'free market' worship failed. Now MSNBC needs to see that rightwing media spin doesn't need yet another nattering nabob of negativity in Andrea Mitchell. It's fail to keep that propagandist when their new audience sees through her like a window.

12. Hate speech is hate speech.
It may not be assault or battery, but it always makes one wonder what is next.

Hate is so last century. The rethuglicans seem to have trouble moving forward.
