could ensure that the only people who "slip through cracks" in the health care system were those who chose to do so.

We will always have students who slip through cracks because public education can't control the environment students come from; because there is a finite number of minutes in the day, number of hands in the building to steady those slipping, and number of resources to reach out with; and because free will has a lot to do with succeeding at anything.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to fill those cracks as tightly as possible.

6. Not really true. There will always be people who don't avail themselves of

social services. Yes, we had homeless, back when there was no need to be homeless, but these were hobos and skid row habitues who didn't want to be in society but could drop back in any time they wanted to because the programs were there to house, feed and rehabilitate them. We were able to care for our dysfunctional souls among us because there were institutions to house them in. In the Reagan years they were thrown out in the street. It wasn't voluntary. We never had universal access to health care so people died without health care but were able to die in a bed where they lived. We have gone backwards, not forwards. Old people have access to health care through Medicare. If they choose not to have it, they can in the future if they need it. There just isn't anyone who falls through the cracks in Medicare unless it's their choice.

There are no cracks there are huge chasms purposely built so the parasites can steal more.

There are no housing programs, there are welfare programs for property owners.

There are hungry people because we are so conditioned to greed that we deny food to children to preclude any possibility that a parasite might miss out on some profit.

There is no "government health care", there is care and there is profiting from the denial of care.

Not only is it possible, it is cheap. About 10% of our military budget (the official one, not the real one) can accomplish all this worldwide, see the accompanying U.N. reports.
