Prediction: In the next 3 weeks, each of these will happen
- The DOW will hit 11,000 for the first time since before Lehman Brothers' collapse.

- The March jobs report will come out, listing the first net gain in jobs in more than 2 years.

- Housing starts and auto sales will have an unexpected surge reported for March. Domestic auto sales will have the biggest jump.

This, combined with the aftermath of the HCR law passage, will provide a big boost to Democrats as they begin working toward the 2010 midterm elections.

Bonus predictions:

- Rush Limbaugh will announce that he is NOT leaving the country.... citing the examples of Alec Baldwin and others who didn't leave the country in 2004 when Bush was re-elected. He'll say that if Alec can back out of his promise, then Rush can back out of his.

- Tiger Woods at the Masters will dominate all news coverage.

- By March 31st, Obama's Gallup approval rating will be 55%.

1. You are right about Rush
I'm not sure about the rest (but i'm hopeful) but that Rush and Tiger bit - that's a lock.

3. A public option of some kind in the HRC bill by November would help a LOT

If Medicare for all is too much to ask, I'd settle for the lowering the eligibility age--there was talk about doing that a little while back.

7. I think Grayson is right on buy in, and I think the lowering of the
eligibility age will help a lot of the hardest hit and least likely to find a new job with good benefits group. That would be older boomers.

6. Rush already backed out of his promise to move to Costa Rica
he will only seek medical attention there. Because the US Medical system sucks, in comparison to Costa Rica. (pretty much true...)

What?

(just couldn't come up with a good back out on that one, eh, Rush?)

8. Okay
Dow will, undoubtedly, continue up. The current bubble being built with the taxpayers' money has been being inflating for a while.

Insurance company stocks will help drive it. Oil prices will probably continue periodic surges.

Housing starts? That would surprise me with a 7 month inventory sitting on the market now. But it would certainly help us as my husband is in the trades and we could stand to eat on a more regular basis. Domestic autos? Likely to go up as Toyota tanks.

Rush already has backed off leaving the country thus killing one of the effects of the bill I would have been happy with (the other being the tax on tanning salons so Boehner has to help pay for the bill).

Don't know much about golf and don't care much about it or Tiger Woods.

Obama's approval will, likely, go up which we hope will embolden him to call for some progressive changes now that he has proven he knows how to get what he wants from the legislative bodies.
