Remember, they're not people with "different opinions," but psychotic bullies enraged at defiance |

The problem liberals keep having is treating psychopaths (the GOP, et al) as if they simply have different opinions in a "debate," and that together we can reach a "conclusion."
What the HCR "debate" and passage reveal -- again -- is that the Other Side is comprised of bullies who are enraged at being defied.
This is the first time this century -- I believe -- the Dems have truly bucked their psychic masters. And just as an abusive husband will scream and holler "WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?" to the beaten wife who finally dares venture outside the house for help, so the ratcheting up of rightwing response reveals a terror that if the Dems can actually defy them once, they might dare do it again.
And there is nothing more terrifying to a bully than losing that (imagined) power.
The shrieking and hysteria on the other side isn't over yet. After all, look at what battering husbands are capable of during divorce proceedings...

1. The only way to deal with a bully is give him a bloody nose |
|
Congressional Democrats are just going to have to figure out how to do that.

3. Well, every one of those psychopaths is a citizen with the right to vote. |
|
And NOBODY is helped by demonizing the opposition.
Psychopaths don't feel the range of human emotions. HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT PEOPLE SO RAVAGED BY FEAR THAT THEY CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT. That looks like emotion to me.
I have a lot of questions about anyone who thinks opposition is insane. Because that isn't how democracy works. Democracy has heated opposition and dirty tricks galore. Tyranny has only one opinion and everybody agrees or dies. With which, exactly, are you more truly comfortable?

4. But you can't keep enabling them |
|
Which posts like yours -- terrified of naming them, so we can deal more effectively with them -- do.
HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT PEOPLE SO RAVAGED BY FEAR SHOULD BE GIVEN THE POWER TO WAGE WAR AND BLOW UP THE PLANET!
That (also) looks like fear, to me. Or passivity.

And yes there are psychopaths out there who are both manipulative and bullying. And they 'teach' their followers to behave that way.
