He wrote some time ago that if the Democrats passed Health reform, they would be in power for the next forty years. I hope he is right.

And years after that to sink into public consciousness. By then most people will have forgotten.
Social security and medicare, two of the biggest progressive welfare programs in the US, are used heavily by teabaggers. It doesn't moderate their beliefs.
I don't think the dems will see political gains from HCR. It was the right thing to do, but it will take years for the moderate reforms to even take effect.
