Two protesters arrested in House gallery are members of Glenn Beck offshoot

The two men Capitol Police arrested for disrupting Congress on Sunday belong to an offshoot of Glenn Beck’s “912 Project.”

Capitol Police arrested two Massachusetts men, William Gunn, 49, and David Sanders, 61, on Sunday afternoon after they allegedly shouted, “Kill the bill!” from the public gallery above the House floor proceedings.

The two men are affiliated with the “Western Mass 912 Project” – an offshoot of Fox News commentator Glenn Beck’s group, “The 912 Project.”

Beck’s group says it “is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001… united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.”

6. Door smashed (shot with pellet gun?) at Gabrielle Gifford's congressional office

The front door was smashed out at Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ congressional office last night.

At 2:40 a.m., just a few hours after staff left the building after the late-night vote, the alarm system went off, said spokesman C.J. Karamargin. The panel to the front door and the glass panel alongside it were smashed out. The perpetrator likely had to hop the gated fence to get access to the door, since it’s not viewable from the parking lot.

Karamargin said it was unclear if the glass had been shot out with a kind of pellet gun, if it had been kicked or smashed with an object. The door has been covered with plywood.

Police had no more information when reached this morning.

8. This is an excellent example of why I'm FROM Western Mass.

These kinds of loons are in the minority there, but they exist in droves in pockets throughout the state. Mostly racist in nature, based on my experiences living there most of my life. I mean, we have plenty of Teabaggers here in Colorado, but one expects them out here. In Mass they kind of blindside you with their bigotry.
