4. If it's any consolation |
|
I've had the country song of the same name by Stonewall Jackson as an earworm all day. It's all for a good cause, however, as Jim DeMint and the rest of the repukes met their Waterloo last night.

Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dH1mXTKp1JQ&feature=youtube_gdataIt's not the same one, but they both just showed a still shot of Stonewall Jackson plus audio of the song.

That song brings back memories-- listening to that song (and various Roger Miller songs) on the radio while getting ready for school (1st and 2nd grades).

3. The catfight at the end of the song... |
|
can it represent the acrimony that is breaking out between the teabaggers and Dick Armey's Freedom Works astroturf organization?

9. Oh yeah. Very appropriate. |
|
In the movie, the fighting women are ostensibly friends who are taking a vacation as part of a group because one of them figured out that the man she'd just married was screwing around on her with someone--she didn't know who--so she decided to take her honeymoon without him, enjoying her bridesmaids' companionship instead. She has only recently learned that the woman her groom was screwing around with was one of the very bridesmaids she is on vacation with. Obviously, only one wrong look from this "friend" is enough to tip her over the edge.
The relationship between the teabaggers and Freedom Works is comparable--they're supposed to be friends, but the relationship is a little messed up right now, because bad news has been learned and someone is going to pay!
