Check in if you got to chuckle under your breath while a winger blew a gasket today. |
|
The job site I was on today had a hardcore winger that was about ready to stroke out because of the health care bill passage.
I had all I could do to keep from grinning like a cheshire cat.

I reminded her that her and her family are currently uninsured and that they will soon HAVE to get some. I think she popped a blood vessel.

But if somebody from the Nitwit Brigade pops off in my earshot, I will have a very difficult time not laughing out loud at him or her.

and ditto head turned Fox on in the waiting room. It was funny yet scary at the same time to see how people believed everything the Repubs could think of to trash HCR.

My tactic, has been to link to HR3962 and DEMAND that these idiots show me where in the bill the government takeover, death panels, no choice of Dr., government chosen insurance provider, etc etc etc was.
I say to them... THIS WILL BE THE LAW OF THE LAND, YOU HAVE BEEN FED RHETORIC LONG ENOUGH, SHOW THE PROOF OF WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD TO FEAR, SHOW ME THE THING THE REPRESENTATIVES COULD NEVER POINT OUT TO ANYBODY EVEN THOUGH THEY CLAIM IT WAS IN THERE.
HERE'S THE BILL, QUIT TELLING ME YOU READ IT AND KNOW FOR YOURSELF... IF THAT'S TRUE THEN POINTING OUT EXACTLY WHERE THESE BOOGEYMAN PROVISIONS ARE SHOULD BE A BREEZE.
That usually shuts em up after a few pointless, non evidence driven rebuttals.

17. Haha, I had the best time with "Good morning Comrade!" yesterday |
|
Sunday evening we had a meeting with other local business owners around 5:30 - as I was walking in, the local loud teabagger racist owner down the street starts being really loud and obnoxious (I said teabagger, I guess that's redundant)
"you can all close your businesses tomorrow and go home if this horrible bill passes tonight" - room went dead silent because these meetings are neighbors/businesses - we don't talk politics.
after a pause I said "well, they got more than 216 votes this afternoon, so it's going to pass - since you're shutting down tomorrow, how much will you sell me those chairs in your lobby? I've always wanted a set like that"

9. I admit it. And yes, goddamnit, I'm enjoying it. |
|
After 14 years of having to take it up the ass by those right wing freaks and their supporters, having to take a bite of a shit sandwich every day, I am loving this.
Schadenfreude? Absolutely. But moreso, what I'm grinning about is what this means to my countrymen and women.

I'll call him James. He's a nice guy and we like each other, but disagree intensely about politics. I've spent a lot of time explaining stuff to him, but he listens to Limbaugh and Beck and Medved and they fill his head full of crap.
So the typical day starts with him greeting me and hitting me with the latest Frank Luntz talking point. He's impressed that I know ahead of time. I'm like, come on man, I read newspapers and DU and such.
He insists on Drudge and the like for his info stream. No wonder he's fucked up in the head.
Anyway, we show up at work and he asks how I'm doing. I said, good.
He says, well you must be better than good. So I :)
He's goading me into gloating. I refuse the bait and keep moving.
We are apart for most of the rest of the day (we are truck drivers) but soon enough he calls me on the bat phone and starts raving incoherently that the spitting/racial epithet/gay epithet things were faked. Clearly, he's tuned into the Pig Man himself. Or the whiny crying dry drunk. Or the Charity Thief In Chief. Y'all know who I'm talking about here.
It was a tough day for James. I reminded him that the sun will rise again tomorrow, like it has every day for the 5000 years since Creation.
For me, it was a very good day.
