3. i hope that lady does not let this drop.....
I am not a resident of Texas, so I don't feel qualified to respond in that forum, but she should email the school, the school district, the local dem office, the state dem office, the national dems, the local tv station, the local paper and anybody and everybody else. Keep screaming and talking out until this is addressed. This has the potential to turn into something very ugly and possible dangerous for the kid. That is simply not acceptable.

This is the same group of people that want to write the textbooks for all of America's children. OMG.

5. That kid is now a target
and I reluctantly agree with the posters who are telling her it's time to home school him or get him out of that district for a few years, at least until the little savages grow up enough for him to finish public high school.

He could now be in danger in that sink of a school.

That teacher should be fired. Holding up a child as an object of ridicule for middle school kids is a very cruel and dangerous thing to do.

They never did.

7. That's how it oughta be
My favorite history teacher liked disputing just about any point the students made, at least in casual conversation around him - the point wasn't to dispute them as much as it was to get the students thinking on their feet, making sure they could understand and support their opinions on the fly, and so on. He actually gave extra credit for quick and clear thinking in those sorts of situations, and never let his own political views anywhere near the students.

9. They been listening to Rush ..... he said yesterday chase Democrats out of town
Limbaugh told radio listeners Democrats "must be hounded out of office."

"Every single Democrat who voted for this needs to know, safe district or not, that they are going to be exposed and hassled and chased from office. We now have leftist radicals in charge of your health care decisions rather than doctors. I got up today and I said, "We're hanging by a thread," and there's a difficult balancing act on this program today: Dealing with the reality of what has happened, which can't be candy coated, with the need to fight on. The need to fight on and the urging to fight on must have some substance to it and not just be rhetoric and language and lingo. It has to have some substance behind it, because we really are facing the prospect that our country will never be the same after yesterday, if this stands. It will never be the same, and a majority of the American people understood it.

"They won because they held Congress and the presidency, and therein lies the lesson: We need to defeat these bastards. We need to wipe them out. We need to chase them out of town. But we need to do more than that. We need to elect conservatives. If there are Republican primaries, elect conservatives and then defeat the Democrats – every last one of them – and then we start the repeal process."

13. Ah, memories of the sixth grade...
It was 1972, the day after the election. I was in a Catholic school. My teacher did a show-of-hands poll. I wasn't really paying attention when he asked, "Who wanted Nixon to win?" So, much to my surprise, when he asked about McGovern, I was the only one who raised my hand. I hadn't noticed that EVERYONE else had raised their hands for Tricky Dick. I heard lots of snickers from my classmates, until my teacher raised his hand and said, "Me, too!" Heh! We were vindicated two years later.

Considering we were all 12 at the time, I suspect that most of my classmates chose Nixon solely for the fact that he won. I suspect some parental influence there, as well. This was suburban Chicago, home of Phil Crane (R-Pedophile) and Henry "Jabba the Hutt" Hyde (R-Adulterer). So, I suspect that most of my classmates were already budding republicans.
