ACORN: The Big Lie Worked
Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 12:24 AM by Hissyspit
ACORN is a victim of a FoxNews propaganda slander campaign and witch hunt. Anyone with any awareness and intelligence and honesty knows this. But it's all about Goebbel's "Big Lie" (or a version of it) isn't it?

Everyone celebrating this is an liar or idiot, and probably a bigot, since ACORN helped minorities. Some here on DU fell for it or trolled it. The Democrats' response of voting for the defunding was unconstitutional and indefensible (and will be a shot in their own foot in the long run).

Fox Propaganda Network and the GOP did this, it worked, and they will keep on doing it. Be aware of the situation and the consequences: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7991811

2. ACORN needs to sue FOX News and Rush Limbaugh
Even if they have no chance of winning. File the lawsuit, hold a press conference and then go under.

9. I agree, just filing it would force the media to
cover it. The more negative publicity Fox gets, the more people are embarrassed to say that's where they get their news. I remember after Rush's drug arrest, all the rightwingers who used to quote him all the time suddenly didn't want to talk about him. Many claimed they never listened to him. It was hilarious.
Fox should become a pariah in the news business.

3. I wonder if the American People could file a class action
suit against Fox, and don't forget the role CNN played in this also. I know that some idiot judge ruled that Fox had the right to lie in an appeal after they had lost the original suit.

I don't understand how a network claiming to be a news organization can be given permission to lie to the public. That decision has had a devastating effect on this country and it was barely noticed by the rest of the media.

Tolerating the Right Wing Noise machine was a huge mistake.

ACORN helped a friend of mine last year when she was facing foreclosure. They were very professional and obviously experienced and she was very grateful to them at a very difficult time in her life.

There must be something that can be done to stop this kind of witch hunting of anyone who helps the poor in this country. The rabid rightwing has been targeting ACORN for decades, because they were so successful in helping the working poor and minorities overcome efforts to prevent them for buying homes. And because they helped so many exercise their right to vote.

This whole thing is a disgrace and I hope Congress will issue a public apology for their role in it.
