Has the Tea Party evolved into a terrorist group? |
|
Spitting on a black Congressman
Hurling racial and bigoted epitaphs at Black, Hispanic and Gay Congressmen
Hurling bricks through the windows of elected Congressmen to intimidate and terrorize
Making threats on the life of our President
They sure sound more like a terrorist group than anything else.

2. I don't know if the FBI and Secret Service have enough resources to keep an eye |
|
on the ever expanding army of lunatics.

4. I think "evolved" is the wrong way to put it. |
|
perhaps if you put a "d" in front of it...

7. First, they're called Tea Baggers -- never forget that -- |
|
and if you consider that they were created and organized by a political party specifically to terrorize Senators and Congressmen at town hall meetings and scare them into voting against healthcare reform -- then, yes, they are a terrorist group.

Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 09:24 AM by madrchsod
the real terror is funded by the some very rich and powerful ultra conservatives. fox news is ministry of propaganda was well funded and as effective as Goebbels ministry of propaganda. republican party is the their political arm and the real threat to our republic.
fascism is not a "kiss away"

12. It took paid organizers and deadicated media |
|
To get these goobers out of the cellar and off the couch. I would agree that the ones pulling the strings never sullied themselves by associating with this rabble. Most of our media is owned by huge corporations, and their "news" departments are muzzled and slanted by the interests of their owners - Fox is more "out" about it, and serves the needs of the fearful and alarmist - you can even see it in their local weather!

10. They're Rebels WIthout A Clue... |
|
They're a mix of GOOP operatives, Paulbots, LaRouchies and hate radio zombies, but I'm sure lurking underneath is the CCC, Stormfront and other extremist groups that can create mischief without having to take responsibility for it. Not unlike the "Minutemen" who also were a front for various extremist groups. But right now it's more a band of motley middle aged white folks who are more enamored with the sound of their voice than anything else.
The moment their "movement" turns violent, it marks the end of it as it crosses a threshold that most cannot tolerate. Remember, the McVeigh attack would stiffle the viglante movement in the 90s and a similar stupid act would have similar ripples today.
That said, I see episodes of violence ahead as there's little else some of these lone wolves have to deal with. While they act alone, they do so with the wink and nod of those who planted the lies and anger inside them.
