2. this is pretty standard
This is so lots of people can say they have a pen used to sign the bill. Several presidents have done it.

25. Usually one pen per letter.
They pick a group of like 10 people to receive pens beforehand and the President will sign the bill with however many pens have been agreed upon.

If he runs out of letters in his name, he'll literally dot the i's and cross the t's with different pens too.

11. This Is Strictly A Ceremony
The real bill is signed quietly in his office. This is strictly a photo op to thank those who helped push and pass the bill.

35. Unlikely. Such a pen will go into a shadow frame with a copy of the signing page
from the bill, to be treasured by the holder's family.

You might see one up for auction at Sotheby's in 50 years or so.

Ebay is for proles.

15. They are used as gifts. One of Clintons pens that signed Graham/
Leach/Bliley was given personally by Bill to a wealthy European hedge fund manager. True Story.

Wonder if the President of United Healthcare will get one of these?

to Harry. Harry tucked it into his shirt pocket. I imagine Vicky Kennedy got one too.
