Rep. Louise Slaughter's (D-NY) CHILDREN get death threat
It's starting. Both Reps. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and Louise Slaughter had their local district offices vandalized shortly after they voted yes on the health care bill. But WHAM reports a much more disturbing update.

Last Thursday she received a chilling recorded message at her campaign office. "Assassinate is the word they used... toward the children of lawmakers who voted yes."

Do you see how fucking sick these people are now? They are advocating violence towards the CHILDREN of Congressmen that voted for health care. Let that sink in. I fear all this is coming to a head, and that the epithets hurled at our Congressmen this weekend was only the beginning.

And yes, I squarely place the blame on Fox News and right-wing talk radio for fanning the flames of this violent mood in this country.

1. Jesus
As much as I hate this and as scary as it is, if this is reported on the media the Republican party had better go to GREAT lengths to condemn this kind of stuff or they are FINISHED.

10. How naive. You and I both know they won't. Repukes NEVER apologize.
They may blab some word salad that to the unpracticed ear SOUNDS like an apology, but they never actually apologize or condemn any bad behavior by their followers.

18. I don't want them to apologize I WANT THEM ARRESTED
Lets flood the Secret Service and Fox news with emails. And ask them are they afraid to protect Democrats the way they did the asinine republicans during bush' stolen reign. I AIN'T AFRAID OF THEM.

6. They only disapprove of abortion, that is before birth.
After they are born then they are cannon fodder like the rest of us.

23. The people against abortion...
...have been murdering people for years. When they do, it they are always treated as a "lone wolf", and these creeps are allowed to harass women seeking health care.

3. So, what is the response to this?
Maybe we need to organize rapid response by district to just go to those offices and stand peacefully outside in support? What do you think?

I don't think the hate mongers will stop until there is violence.

7. Starting? Continuing is more like it
I’m less worried about yahoos who make empty threats on answering machines or on the intertubes, because I think the folks who take action are most apparent in retrospect. But for every dimbulb who broadcasts his terrorist intent, there’s probably at least one making more detailed plans and not telling anyone.

Will Fox denounce the terrorists? Will Republican officials condemn these cowards? They’ve been scrambling over the last couple of days first to marginalize the violent (“they’re not representative of the entire crowd”) and then to discount that anything untoward has happened at all (“when people are frustrated and feel they’re not being listened to, it’s perfectly understandable that they will act out in ways that would embarrass a five-year-old”).

The next step is pretty obvious, and the Republicans are probably already preparing their justifications, with Fox standing ready to parrot the most egregious, un-American crapola you’re likely to hear since the launching of the Iraq invasion.

21. No sh*t. This is the textbook definition of terrorism.
Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 09:50 PM by Hansel
Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano need to wake the hell up. These terrorists continue to be cheer led by extreme talk radio and Fox News, as well as unelected and ELECTED political "leaders". Sara Palin is encouraging people to "reload" and putting rifle sight cross-hairs on the states of targeted Senators. She is all but calling for the assassination of sitting Senators and the response from the FBI, Dept of Justice and Homeland Security is a collective ho hum.

It's also time for moderate Republicans to start taking a stronger stand against this and for everyone to quit pretending these are "isolated" incidences. The lack of response and urgency coupled with the cheer leading by right wing extremists with microphones just emboldens them.

As long as no leaders show unequivocal outrage, the people will believe that this is tolerable behavior. It continues to get worse and worse, and the worse it get, the more average Americans seem to tolerate it. Where in the hell is the public outrage?

14. Cease Vanderboegh's fucking social security payments NOW.
Hypocritical piece of shit. My goodness, sitting there sucking on the gubmint teat while cheerleading his sick compatriots to violence over same, right? Can't have that!

He says he's responsible for the vandalism? Great, then send him the bill for the cleanup and for new windows and doors. If he doesn't pay up, then throw his sick hypocritical ass in Gitmo for leading the terrorism (by his own admission).
