I am certain that Obama understands it is important to maintain good relations with Dennis Kucinich. He has quite a following out there, and bringing Kucinich on AF1 on a trip to his district, hearing his concerns and ultimately winning his support for HCR could go a long ways toward avoiding a primary challenge in 2012 from the Left flank.
