Oye. Kind of a no-brainer? Is this to insinuate Dems want this in there?

Coburn introduces health bill amendment to prevent sexual enhancers for child rapists
By Jordan Fabian - 03/23/10 06:12 PM ET

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) Tuesday introduced an amendment to the health law fixes that would ban child molesters and rapists from receiving insurance coverage for erectile dysfunction drugs.

The provision will likely come up later this week, when a rapid round of amendments are introduced to the package of fixes under the rules governing the reconciliation process.

While the rules limit debate to 20 hours, senators are allowed to propose an unlimited amount of amendments.

Republicans plan to introduce many amendments and points of order to slow the process down.

Senate Democrats are using the reconciliation tactic to sidestep a Republican filibuster to the bill and pass fixes to the underlying legislation signed by President Barack Obama using a simple majority vote.

1. What. An. Idiot.
Lack of an erection doesn't stop rapists from raping. Castration doesn't even stop them. The problem is not in their underpants, it's in their heads. When what's in their underpants doesn't cooperate they just start using foreign objects on their victims instead.

You are correct of course, but
politically I'd give Tom (part of the worst duo in the senate) this one and get on down the road.

7. Then it would go back to the House, and after the House approved it
he'd come back with some other politically convenient amendment to delay the process.

8. Umm...
I'm not sure how he expects the insurance companies to monitor this, or for that matter what would prevent such people from purchasing the medicines out of pocket. seems like something that would be much better attached to a criminal law bill. But I suppose he's just throwing it in there in hope that it'll be opposed and can then be used to characterize Democrats as rape enablers or something. Whatever, I don't especially object.

9. He's just looking for a talking point
He just wants to be able have it out there that the Democrats voted against banning Vigara for child rapists. That's all this is about. DEMOCRATS SUPPORT CHILD RAPISTS GETTING IT UP!!!

Never mind the logistics of the whole thing. Some doctor is really going to prescribe viagra to a child rapist. How many shild rapists are out there who even need viagra. Hopefully they are all in jail.

This is politics at its worst. Coburn is slime.

Don't fall for this, Democrats.

10. If insurance doesn't cover birth control
devices or drugs for women, NO man should receive ED devices or drugs. Period.
