If you were in a situation where you had to rely on the moral compass of a Republican, could you? |
|
Like in a life or death situation. Stuck on a raft in the Pacific Ocean and the Republican was put in charge of the water. Or a situation where a group was stranded somewhere and you had to ration food and the Republican was in charge of the rationing. I seriously don't think I could trust a person who told me they were a Republican/Conservative/Christian Fundamentalist in a situation where their action or inaction had a direct effect on my living or dying.

1. The moral compass of a Republican is like Captain Jack Sparrow's compass... |
|
It only points to what they want.

2. Nope. and first off, you'd have to assume the presence OF a |
|
moral compass in a Republican, and I used to think that was possible~now, not at all.

And less time about saving lives.

5. My DU anser is "Oh, no way!" but in REALITY there's not as much difference between.... |
|
...people who label themselves as Democrats and people who label themselves Republicans as it might seem.
There are members of each of our political groups who are outright caricatures of the belief set and the opposing political party's followers mostly focus on them.
But in real life, there's being a decent human being and there's not. Most people are decent. I still believe that. It's just the indecent ones you remember.
Republican Conservative
Now Christian Fundamentalist...I'd probably have to say no. If we were on the liferaft or whatever, I'd make sure we killed them in their sleep and ate them first. I don't think the Republicans/Conservatives would probably have all that much a different viewpoint on the matter as I would.
And when it comes to the lifeboat, there's just three simple rules:
1.What happens on the lifeboat stays on the lifeboat. 2.Eat the Fundamentalist Christians first otherwise they'll go all Mrs. Carmody on you eventually. 3.No matter how you applied rules 1 and 2, realize that the survivor's account is the only "true" account there is. ;)

Although if I were stranded somewhere without modern facilities, I would ask if they could spare some of the pages of their 'moral compass' so I could wipe my ass.

|
Q: On a fishing trip, how do you keep the fundie from drinking all the beer?
A: Bring *two* fundies.
