Well, now I know why gasoline prices shot up $.20 overnight.

Gasoline runs short in Midwest terminals

A bottleneck in the supply of gasoline has caused some terminals in Iowa to run out of unleaded gas today.

Terminals in Iowa City and Fort Dodge had no unleaded gasoline today, said Bruce Heine, a spokesman for Magellan Midstream Partners, which has an 8,500-mile refined petroleum pipeline system including 47 terminals, eight of which are in Iowa.

The pipeline transports gasoline and diesel fuel from refineries in Oklahoma, Kansas and the Texas Gulf Coast region and from the Minneapolis area.

"Right now we're not receiving adequate supplies of no-lead gasoline," Heine said.
He said Iowa City and Fort Dodge were expected to get fuel tonight.

A U.S. Army soldier from northwest Iowa has been killed in Iraq while participating in a military crackdown aimed at stabilizing the war-torn country, the Department of Defense said today.

Pfc. Brian A. Botello, 19, of Alta, was among three soldiers who died in Baghdad on Sunday of wounds suffered when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb during a combat patrol, military officials said.

Botello had joined the Army in July 2005, serving as a cavalry scout, and had been in Iraq since October.

1. everyone in his town knew him personally , knew of him and
knew of him, and knows someone in his extended family. most people in the town knew he was going to the army and/or they knew he was in iraq. my mom`s aunts and uncles lived with in 30 miles in all directions from storm lake . i spent many a summer out there on the prairie where most everyone knew everyone in one way or another. he may have thought he`d finish up in the army, go to school, and maybe move to the big city or come back home...he`s coming back home with his families dreams for him unfulfilled..

how many more kids have to die for this lie?
