1. Advice for the young bride. On the negative side,
there is the wedding night, during which the bride
must pay the piper, so to speak, by facing for the first time the
terrible experience of sex.

2. It's a good thing that so many people
ignore the guilt.

5. And sadly, some things don't change so much and leave women wondering why her man cheats
Most men, if not denied, would demand sex almost every day. The wise
bride will permit a maximum of two brief sexual experiences weekly
during the first months of marriage. As time goes by she should
make every effort to reduce this frequency.

Feigned illness, sleepiness, and headaches are among the wife's best
friends in this matter. Arguments, nagging, scolding, and bickering
also prove very effective, if used in the late evening about an hour
before the husband would normally commence his seduction.

Clever wives are ever on the alert for new and better methods of
denying and discouraging the amorous overtures of the husband. A
good wife should expect to have reduced sexual contacts to once a
week by the end of the first year of marriage and to once a month by
the end of the fifth year of marriage.

By their tenth anniversary many wives have managed to complete their child
bearing and have achieved the ultimate goal of terminating all sexual
contacts with the husband. By this time she can depend upon his love for
the children and social pressures to hold the husband in the home. Just
as she should be ever alert to keep the quantity of sex as low as
possible, the wise bride will pay equal attention to limiting the kind and
degree of sexual contacts. Most men are by nature rather perverted, and
if given half a chance, would engage in quite a variety of the most
revolting practices. These practices include among others performing the
normal act in abnormal positions; mouthing the female body; and offering
their own vile bodies to be mouthed in turn.

3. I like the positive side
of the wedding day, it's almost as funny as the terrifying prospect of sex.

"On the positive side, there is the wedding itself, in which the bride is the central attraction in a
beautiful and inspiring ceremony, symbolizing her triumph in securing a male to provide for all her needs for the rest of her life."

Unfortunately she also has to let the lout touch her dirty parts, but at least she secured the male.

You knew this had to be written by a preachers wife as soon as you looked at it. Has any preacher ever been able to land a chick without her thinking about how terrifying it was going to be that he was going to touch her?

4. One thing we forget...
Is that women used to die frequently in childbirth and that they would incur various incurable ailments the more children they bore. Not to mention the expense of raising children. Women had good reason back in those days, before birth control, to limit the number of children they bore.

7. P.S. My great-grandmother forbid sex after she had two children. rop
She felt that those were all the children she wanted, and from that point on, they had a sexless marriage. That's kind of how things were in those days. Of course, in those days, prostitutes had lots of business. And wives looked the other way.

10. Maybe that's what she told the kids
who knows what kinds of immoral nasty stuff she and great granddad came up with on a nightly basis. Remember they didn't have TV to keep them occupied. Sorry, I didn't want to make you picture that but I couldn't resist. ;-)

22. Well, it would explain my failure to meet the ultimate goal of terminating all
sexual contact with my husband by our tenth wedding anniversary. Actually, my ultimate goal is to get the munchkin off to college so hubby and I can indulge in foul perversion all over the house without fear of interruption. :9

after 5 kids. I always thought it was odd, but it's so obvious...

15. My mother's father was a sharecropper.
They grew up in Sledge, Mississippi and were poorer than cockroaches. Mom was the youngest of 12 from her mother, and her father's first wife (who had died earlier) had another 5 children. As soon as someone was old enough, they'd get pushed out of the 3-room shack they lived in to either go join the military or get married. Her parents had one room with usually the younger ones sleeping in there, Mom and her sisters shared a bed in the back room (actually a converted porch) and the boys shared the front room.

My momma said she remembered one day seeing her mother sitting at the table, quietly weeping. When Mom asked her why, she was told that they were soon going to have another mouth to feed. She did lose that baby (her mother was over 45 by that time, her dad was in his mid-60's and then died in the field when she was 6). She said that it seemed like every time her dad hung his pants up there was another baby (that was told me by one of her older sisters).

When my grandfather died the owner turned them all out and they went on public assistance, as well as grandma doing odd housekeeping jobs for money. Only 3 out of the 12 graduated from high school and every one left as soon as possible.

11. Actually, that's really depressing in its entirety.
and in some ways those attitudes still pervade our culture - that women 'grudgingly' give sex to men and don't enjoy it themselves, etc, etc.
