MSNBC BREAKING: brother of Rep Perriello had his gas line severed at his home.
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 01:05 PM by Fleshdancer
I'll post the link when it comes through.

Wasn't this the brother who's phone number and/or address was listed because a wingnut thought it was the address of the Rep?

edit 1: no one was hurt btw.
edit 2: link:

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/03/24/fbi-investigating-perriello-incident-in-virginia/?fbid=iYqpjSqGxxn

Washington (CNN) - Days after his address was posted online by a Virginia Tea Party activist, the FBI and local law enforcement officials are investigating a "suspicious incident" at the home of Rep. Tom Perriello's brother.

A line to the propane tank on his brother's gas grill had been "severed," an aide to the Democratic congressman told CNN.

"It was enough that he could smell the gas," the aide said.

The Albemarle County Fire Marshal's office confirmed they are investigating the incident - which took place in Ivy, Virginia - along with the FBI.

5. Oh, no, I didn't mean it as a criticism, I only meant that people could find more information
I think it's good that you are pointing out that MSNBC is now covering it so that people can tune in if they want to.

I didn't mean it as a criticism at all! :)

6. I agree. I wonder if we need to set up neighborhood watch type stuff
to protect our Democratic politicians? It's a shame it's come to this, but I feel we do need to do something to protect them from harm.

8. Escalation, not surprsied nor shocking
and to be honest expected...

And to those who still think these are ahem isolated incidents (for the moment) and not preview of things getting uglier, I invite you to ahem smell the gas in this case.

Wake up, this is happening and it is getting uglier.

This is part of the predictive pattern and I have said it before. We have been in a COLD civil war since 1996... most cold civil wars become hot sooner or later. This is a pattern...

And for the denial crew... it ain't just a river in Egypt you know.

9. Going to get much worse before it gets better.
Soon, a Tim McVeigh clone will do something really stupid. Most of the teabaggers will recoil in horror and slink away. Same thing happened after Oklahoma City bombing.

12. that term would mean a Democrat cut the gas line with intent that it be mistaken for a Republican
or am I wrong?

14. What would lead you to say that?
The story seems to indicate the contrary.

The man's address was erroneously report in a blog enticing people to do something to the person at that address.

Something was done.

Now, tell us why you think this was a false flag operation. Please.

harm anyone they disagree with as evidenced by THIS:

30. I don't automatically believe what someone says just because they're on "my team"
Sorry but I'm not a sheep. There are lots of sick individuals and groups willing to find any opportunity to take advantage of others. This isn't limited to race, nationality or political affiliation.

An individual or family sympathetic to a politician can just as easily smash out windows and get away with it because your automatic response will be "A RW'er DID IT! A FREEPER DID IT!!!!", I just hope that whoever investigates these incidents will have a more open mind and consider all aspects.

17. It's still the act of a terrorist...an attempt to intimidate by
threats of terror. Besides, a five-gallon propane tank can leak enough gas to make a heckuva fireball if it creeps into a home. This is nothing to make jokes about nor to take lightly. Someone needs to be prosecuted for a federal crime.

Or do we just ignore domestic terrorism? I'm not really in favor of that option.

21. Just seems to me that it's more likely to be nothing.
Like it was broken accidentally. We go make a big deal about a leaky gas grill and it turns out it happened when it was accidentally bumped into a wall, we're gonna look pretty foolish.

22. Really? Is that how it seems to you?
Sure doesn't seem that way to me, and the FBI and local authorities seem to be taking it seriously. I would not put anything past the teabagger creeps.

But cutting a line on a propane grill outdoors? Trespassing and petty vandalism. Try not to overreact.

29. Have you ever seen a grill propane tank explode?
I have.
I ahve a friend who made a video of her and a friend using one to blow up her friends fathers house after he molested her.
Blew the house to smithereens.

Gas bombs are so explosive that the Air Force even has them in their arsenal.
