16. A little while ago, I heard Debbie Stabenow pitching a

fit on the Senate Floor because the Republicans refused to consent that hearings be held while the Senate was in session. She said she was supposed to chair a hearing with State Department and other officials on the training of Afghan soldiers. So, it does look like they are doing everything they can to hold things up.
