Answer>>>>>>>>>>>> "promote the general Welfare"

the rethugs/tea baggers/glenBeck disciples/ ditto-heads etc... are ALL oblivious to this and frankly, pissing me off. it is like they got to "Provide for the common defense" in their heads and only came back to reading comprehension at the word "Liberty".

"promote the general Welfare" means promote the HEALTH of society. yet they are completely oblivious to this...

we need to point this out to every one of these Texas educated morans.

6. Remember that for Republicans, "Welfare" is a code word.
To their ears, it means "steal my money and give it to fat black women with ten kids." So sure the constitution provides for welfare, but it doesn't specifically outline welfare if you know what they mean.

These people are damaged.

12. Yup.
Ya got me. I was quite fond of Schoolhouse Rock, back in the day.

Why don't networks promote civics anymore? Never mind, it's rhetorical.

7. I've heard argument suggesting that because it's not in the body of the document
and doesn't have an article or section number, that it doesn't count. It reads to me like something of a mission statement, which I would suspect any corporation would consider as vital to being properly branded.

10. They mistake the preamble of "We the people" to mean "We the corporations"...
... and therefore the "general welfare" section only applies to the more powerful "corporate persons" in their warped minds...

13. Do not confuse the two verbs.
The "general welfare" is only promoted (encouraged) while the "common defense" is provided.
