Join the Phone Company That Fights the Right Wing--a brochure I just received
Credo Mobile sent me a brochure telling me that AT&T has donated $20,000 or more to right-wing politicians. Inside the brochure is a map of the US with pictures of who got those donations and what part of the country they are from along with a quote from each of them. Lieberman's ugly mug is telling us "I will try to stop passage of the healthcare bill." McCain says, ""What defines rich? I think if you're just talking about income, how about $5 million?" and Boehner tell us "I'm still trying to find the first American to talk to who's in favor of the public option."

I have to say that this brochure kinda made my day.

1. They're my phone company
great price, great customer service, and moderately progressive. Worlds better than Sprint.

11. true enough
They've got near equivalents, but you'd have to unlock your iphone to use it on their network.

18. You can't use an iPhone on Credo even if it's unlocked. Credo uses the Sprint network.
They're an MVNO, which means they resell service using the network of another company. In this case, they use the Sprint network to provide service to their customers. The Sprint network isn't compatible with iPhones, or any other devices based on GSM technology, which is one of the reasons they're a non-starter for people like me.

23. They're supposedly getting a few smart phones at the end ...

of the month.

I use them and am greatly looking forward to more phone options. Other than not liking my phone, I love them as a company.

:)

12. I had Sprint for several years
they used to have good customer service, but after the merge with Nextel, it turned into a nightmare. I was looking for a new carrier, and Credo uses the same PCS network that Sprint does, so I got the same thing, with better service, for about $20 less per month.

Working Assets and Credo are one of the most progressive businesses out there.
I'll give them $. Used to have Working Assets for my LD provider till I removed my landline.

21. actually it is
I've had it for years. Very happy with their PAC activity!

I have just one person on one phone, so depending on what plan you want the prices may or may not be competitive.

Not a lot of bells and whistles, but if you want a politically correct phone company, this is it.

32. It wasn't for me.
I switched to them from AT&T. My bills ended up going up, enough so that I had to switch back. It was unfortunate but I work on a pretty tight budget -- increased phone bills weren't what I had expected.

I'd go with their cell phone but the Sprint reception totally sucks around here.

Otherwise I'd switch in a heartbeat.

Credo takes a cut, Sprint gets the rest.

but it absolutely sucks. Everyone I know around here dropped it because of (1) horrific customer service and (2) the reception around here was terrible -- they had tons of dropped calls.

30. Ooooh! $20,000 or more? And AT&T's union workers, the CWA gave over
$2 Million to Democrats in 2008. Wonder why Credo doesn't tell you that part? Oh' yeah, cause Credo isn't union, and nether is the network they buy access to, the also wire tapping and spying for the NSA, Sprint.

Enjoy your service.:hi:

37. Great company.
Had them for about eight years -- couldn't be happier with the service, the coverage or my Blackberry. CREDO's been doing citizen lobbying FOR the Employee Free Choice Act and Net Neutrality -- concepts I'm pretty sure AT&T hates with a passion and spends millions lobbying against.

It's great that CWA members donate a lot to Democrats -- but AT&T itself is very right-wing in their PAC donations, and also gave Bush's NSA direct access to install a splitter cable in their S.F. network control center. No progressive should support them.
