Applause very weak, so they quickly cut back to Seacrest and he continued with the show, almost ignoring the whole thing.

11. Either that or prerecorded.
Can't tell you because I turned the channel as soon as his mug came on. Fortunately, I switched it back just in time to hear the audience clapping feebly and unenthusiastically. Made me chuckle.

3. I'm glad you posted this so I didn't have to
Felt a little embarrassed watching AI tonight, but I needed a break from the real world tonight.

And yes.....that was just horrible wasn't it?

This was the very first time I have watched AI this season. Bon Jovi is actually my guilty little pleasure... but what a nasty ending.

4. What a fool.
I watch AI to forget about that a-hole for a while. Yet there he was, grinning his idiot grin. I had to walk away in disgust. Thank god the show was basically over by then.

15. That is the irony isn't it?
Last week they showed the faces of the poor and forgotten around the world and IN OUR COUNTRY, shaming this POS for not taking any action on their behalf...and this week, there he is, bowing and scraping as if he were the main contributor. Yuck. Need a shower now.

21. On the Sucks board, I was looking at the comments in the
AI Forum...specifically the thread with the running comments on the show. Now on that site, I'd say the posters in general lean more left than right, although there are certainly a number of Bush supporters. The comments are UNANIMOUSLY anti-Bush tonight...lots of loathing and disgust!! :woohoo:

12. Yes I watch AI
and that was just disgusting, thats why I didn't donate, they did not say who was handling the money that was raised, but I imagine it is the world Bank, and to think, he cuts all programs that would help people, but more than happy in a underhanded way, take what little money people have/ That slim bag piece of shit, and to take credit for it, I will not AI ever again.

19. You just made that shit up
They said who was getting the money last week, which is when the fundraising was done and Bush was nowhere in site so that would not have been a reason not to donate.

They're already under fire from the right for supporting "pro-abortion" groups.

The Nation's Food Bank Network, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Children's
Health Fund and Save the Children in the US.

In Africa, funds will be dedicated to The Global Fund, Malaria No More,
Nothing But Nets, Save the Children and The U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

Sorry if it doesn't meet your purity test. :eyes:

26. why do people have to get so bent
I could not find the info for myself, so I did not donate, but I do know that the World Bank is in charge of alot of charities.
If I am going to make shit up It would be alot better story than this.
Sorry if it doesn't meet your purity test.

I don't think it's fair to make slanderous statements without knowing all the facts, but everybody doesn't have to agree on what is and isn't fair.

13. American Idol doing what our government should be doing...
if we weren't being bankrupted by Georgie's War.

$70 Million to feed the hungry, both in Africa and here in the good old USA.
You remember the USA. The country that used to inspire pride.

What is $70 million to the asshole warmongers? About 6 hours in Iraq, maybe.

14. I didn't want to own up to watching AI last week
But I have to admit, they did an amazing show. They showed poverty that most people never see, much less on prime time television. They showed the FEMA camps on the Gulf coast, where the children can't play outside because of the gunfire. They showed children gathered for activities in a "community center" that is really little more than a half-destroyed, battered ruin of a building.

They showed people literally moments from death in Africa due to AIDS. They showed a woman raising thirteen children in a one-room shack. They are the orphaned children of her dead friends.

I cried throught the whole show.

I hear they raised $38 million. And for Bush to slither in and try to attach himself to the charity and generosity of people who were moved to give is OBSCENE. It is because of him that those children still live in those dangerous trailers and can't play outside.

How can he sleep at night?

22. I believe it.
They put the shocking, intolerable poverty right up there on the television screen, and then they told how little a day it would cost to feed the children, to open schools, to provide AIDS and malaria drugs.

On edit: I just emailed the show and lodged my complaint with them. I bet I wasn't the only one, either.
