BREAKING NEWS: The Columbus Dispatch Identifies Health Care Protester ( hurled insults and dollars)
https://www.ohiodems.org/stoptheattacks

At a health care reform protest outside Congresswoman Mary Jo Kilroy’s office last week, a man hurled insults and dollar bills at a Columbus area senior challenged by Parkinson’s disease. For days, we’ve been wondering who could be so insulting and so callous to a fellow Ohioan. Well, today, we found out. The Columbus Dispatch identified the man as Columbus resident and registered Republican Chris Reichert.

Ian King Chief Executive

There is a section on ethics and they do say that mostly they are referring to ethics in the business model. I don't know how to copy and past from these types of forms so if anyone wants to do so please feel free. I might write the Chief Executive but I'm not sure yet.

"He's got every right to do what he did and some may say I did too, but what I did was shameful," Reichert said. "I haven't slept since that day."

"I made a donation (to a local Parkinson's disease group) and that starts the healing process."

19. Very interesting
quoted from the article the OP posted: Reichert says "That was my first time at any political rally and I'm never going to another one," Reichert said.

"I will never ever, ever go to another one."

So many are frustrated and agitated and don't know why. He is more than likely just like most Americans, a slave to a corporate structure, stressed to the max and just really trying to make a living and take care of his family. He doesn't have an innate curious nature and doesn't read or analyze what is really going on. He has no time to study and probably the inclination to do so. So someone, anyone is capable of pressing his buttons. Unfortunately those with the loudest mics, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Fox News, his uneducated neighbors and ad nausem are the only voices he hears.

I actually think that this is his "Come to Jeebus moment". Maybe he won't be so naive in the future.

26. So what?
So it's his first political rally. That's fine. Was this his first contact with the human race? Typical teabagger republican...always sorry, after the fact. It's all about basic decency - this being his first rally has nothing to do with being a tough guy coward who feels empowered to give a beatdown to a crippled person while surrounded by similar minded dickheads.

He deserves to be a poster boy for his actions that day. I cut this guy no slack.

53. A "political rally" is not to blame, first time or not.
Reichert, being unable to control himself and carry on in a civilized manner, is to blame. I've been "frustrated and agitated" over the years, but NEVER, and I repeat NEVER, would I have conducted myself the way he did. Stop making excuses for him--he's acting contrite only because he was outed for his despicable behavior. He chooses to listen to those venomous voices because they reinforce a belief system already in place. It's highly unlikely that Reichert will be changing the channels to Amy Goodman or Rachel Maddow any time soon...

Simply put, you can have whatever bullshit you want going on in your life - but if you act like this guy did, you have no excuse.

This guy came off as a TOTAL FUCKING PRICK in front of the entire USA. Of course he feels bad about it. Imagine if this HADN'T been caught on camera. This jackoff would most likely STILL be doing the exact same thing at more rallies.

He's scared cause he might lose his cash flow and be demonized by his neighbors ---- WHICH HE DESERVES!

What he did proved the point of everyone against these tea parties. It is only uneducated HATE driven bastards that are involved in this and those people shouldn't have any place in our society.

You don´t see the manipulation of STAGING a photograph of this teabagging piece of shit in front of an American flag? The Dispatch TOOK that photo to augment their message. Posed, framed, click!

The implication being that he´s a ¨patriotic American¨ (as if that excuses his vile behavior - and opinions).

It´s the same bullshit manipulation of ¨the troops¨ that Bush would have done. And it´s STAGED!

The flag is not a prop for right-wing retards.

Point is that the newspaper photographer deliberately took a picture in front of an American flag to convey the message that he is an average upstanding guy. His actions, however, speak otherwise.

32. This is what Rush Limbaugh teaches his cult members.
He made fun of Michael Fox in a disgusting display of hate-filled rhetoric and body language which was filmed.

These people are sociopaths, they have deep, deep emotional and mental problems and that is why is influencing an already anti-social segment of society. It is toxic and was ignored for far too long by the left.

It's nothing new that there are violent threats against members of Congress. I remember seeing Tom Daschle on the Senate Floor asking for something to be done about Rush Limbaugh right before the election. He was being trashed on rightwing blogs and on Rightwing Hate Radio. And he received bomb threats against his family which were reported to the FBI.

Don't forget the Anthrax attacks against Democrats also. People have not taken seriously the war on the left in this country. The goal is to eliminate it completely and it is very serious.

Ignoring it hasn't helped. It should never be ignored because now their numbers have increased and they have raised a whole new generation of haters who have learned that it is 'patriotic' to hate the left.

The taking down of ACORN was part of it, they won't stop there, they have a long list of other organizations that they consider to be liberal and have already begun to attack them also.

49. Reminds me of the old morality: judge a man's character by what he does when nobody's looking
Well, Chris Reichert didn't think anyone was looking and he acted despicably.

He's only sorry now because it was caught on tape, and his miserable soul is exposed for the pitiful creature he really is.

He is shameful.

51. Some caller to Norman Goldman today tried to suggest that these miscreants

60. I am pretty easy going, but I'd like to smack this asshole.
Now that he has been identified, he is apologetic and regrets his actions.

Fuck him.

61. So how does our smacking this guy around make it better?
I'm for giving him the benefit of a doubt and accepting his apology. Let's move on... there are bigger fish to fry isn't there? Tea Partiers are misinformed. What a surprise.
