I really love Al Franken.
I'm watching the Senate vote-a-rama on C-SPAN 2, and after he went up to vote on one of the amendments, he sauntered over to the republican side and started chatting up Sen. Sessions.

Sessions's body language indicated he was uncomfortable and he was practically ignoring him, but Al kept at it - probably telling jokes - and now Sessions is facing Al and is just yakking away with him.

Good for Al. He's got his own charm offensive going!

2. me, too -
ever since I saw that clip of him at the fair completely disarming his detractors. I didn't really take him all that seriously at first, but he's extremely intelligent! and doesn't seem to be afraid of any one or any thing. He stands up for his principals, politics be damned!

4. I'm sure it was Franken.
A little less sure his target was Jeff Sessions, but it was some republican senator standing there looking uncomfortable, and I think it was Sessions.
