Hoyer: GOP should condemn threats of violence to Democrats

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said several Democrats have received threats of violence in their home districts and he wants leaders within the Republican Party to do something about it.

Hoyer said more than 10 Democrats in the House have reported threats or harassment about their support of health care reform. He didn't know for sure how many threats there have been, but the FBI informed party leaders that agents are investigating.

1. I think
Someone on the left needs to start leaking precisely what it is the FBI is investigating. I want full disclosure. The Republicans are not going to do anything. They aren't paying attention to David Frum right now (look at some of his recent articles at American Enterprise Institue) - they are listening to Glenn Beck, Hannity, and Rush who get rewarded for being vile. They see how being vile gets rewards, so they aren't going to do a thing.

But the FBI could and SHOULD be doing a full court press. Now - maybe they are. But right now? Until I see a media frenzy over this someplace OTHER than MSNBC? I'm operating on the idea that they are working for the Republicans and so are giving 'lip service' but really sitting back and giggling about it all.

Someone on the left has gotta leak something to US - the people who have actual CONCERN. Or - the Atty General needs to make a statement saying we will prosecute these people to our fullest ability. But I'm not satisfied with the silence.

2. They should, Mr. Hoyer, but they don't dare
The GOP isn't in control anymore of the frenzy they stirred up. If they try to quell it now, it will just come back to bite them, and this isn't a real courageous bunch in case you hadn't noticed. Right now they're just crossing their fingers and hoping the madness dissipates. But if a sacrifice is required to sate the blood lust, it will probably be someone outside the Republican tribe, so it'll all be good.

3. GOP has had all day. They are flatly REFUSING to condemn the death threats
and terrorism. They will share in the guilt if so much as a hair on anyone's head is harmed.

SILENCE EQUALS CONSENT.
