NASHVILLE: Major! Tea Party Protest to ensure State Bills pass
to PROTECT us Tennesseans from the Health Care Reform Bill!

It was announced that the TN legislature was going to pass a State bill that would "protect" Tennesseans from the "Socialist" national HCR bill. At the time it was reported, there were 2 major provisions in the TN bill: 1, eliminate "pre-existing conditions" (which is already in the HCR bill) and 2, provide that insurance companies must pay for hearing aids for babies (ahhh, excuse me, but WTF? I mean, yeah, good idea, but still WTF?).

Local Tea-Baggers (I'm sorry, I meant "Tea Partiers") stated that they would camp out in front of the Capitol Building overnight to make sure that TN Lawmakers addressed their concerns over the recently passed HCR bill. NewsChannel5 went live to the Legislative Plaza in Nashville to interview this hoard of protesters early on the morning of the legislative debate. They stated that a grand total of 4 (yes, four) had actually camped out overnight, although only 3 were seen in the live video. The 4th was interviewed later (I guess he was in the bathroom or something). Many, many, MANY more were expected to show up later in the day. (Yeah, right).

1. You can only use a tea bag once
then you might as well throw it away.

6. It was so sad......
They had built this up as "big news".

And then when they showed the Live Cam it was one table with a guy reading from a piece of paper into a megaphone at the end of a portable table with a bored woman and a bored guy sitting in camp chais and one empty camp chair nect to them.

It was so pathetic I laughed at first - and then I just felt sorry for them.

5. That is a lot of work for nothing by the TN legislature since they are subject to Federal law.

8. Here's what's really weird. The TN legislature has been mostly Dem
up until this last election. Ok, I'm white and I'm not prone to yell "racism", but I will admit there is still a lot of racism in TN. In the last Senate race here, racism won out - although there was more to it.

For those of you who don't know, Rosalind Kurita won the DEM primary here in TN. But, because of one single vote she made against Party lines (based on her own conscious) the Dem Committee here decided to punish her and override the primary vote and declare Harold Ford the Senate Candidate, instead.

Yes, the same Harold Ford that thought about moving to New York and yadda, yadda. Same Guy.

I still think Kurita could have won easily on the issues. I did not like Ford. Plus, Ford's family was involved in several TN scandals including his uncle who was caught on tape taking bribes. Still, I will admit he put on one hell of a fight and it looked like he had a chance. Until the infamous "blond bimbo" "call me, Harold!" ad.

I can rant and rave against Ford as a candidate and I can exclaim my own displeasure with him as a candidate, but watching the polls before and after that as I can only conclude that he lost because of

*gasp*

racism.

And so now we're stuck with Bob Corker, who ran on the coattails of previous Dem mayors. Chattanooga used to be a really ugly little town. Dems turned it around and made it a major tourist destination with Dem proposals. Unfortunately, by the time that hard work came to fruition Corker was mayor - so he got the credit for all the hard work and decisions that his predecessors did. And he got elected for being a racist.

I really hate Bob Corker.
