Five area men identified by federal authorities as white supremacists have been charged with conspiring to make and sell grenades to racist allies outside Connecticut.

Indicted on multiple weapons charges are the leader of the Connecticut White Wolves, a self-described white supremacist group now known as Battalion 14, and members and associates of the group -- one of them a soldier in the U.S. Army.

The group leader is Kenneth Zrallack, 29, of Ansonia, officials said. He, along with alleged group members Alexander DeFelice, 32, of Milford, and William R. Bolton, 31, of Stratford, was charged Saturday. Also accused in the plot are Edwin T. Westmoreland, 27, of Stratford, and David Sutton, 46, of Milford.
