There have been threats of violence, but no real violence up to now.

I haven't seen any violence around me yet. I hear about isolated incidents in the news in places that are thousands of miles away from me. So far they're throwing bricks through windows and flinging epithets and making anonymous phone calls. I have no fear that they'll attack here anytime soon, if ever. If they do decide to be violent they'll meet the same end that anyone doing such will encounter. Fear is the enemy.
