Pope directly implicated in Wisconsin mass rape cover-ups
I really, REALLY don't like this guy. I mean, he himself was REALLY one of, if not THE chief architect of this arch-criminal endeavor to protect the church and kick the raped children under the bus by the thousands. It burns me just to write about it here. And now that guy is Pope, living large and untouchable. Makes my skin crawl.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03...can.html

"Top Vatican officials — including the future Pope Benedict XVI — did not defrock a priest who molested as many as 200 deaf boys, even though several American bishops repeatedly warned them that failure to act on the matter could embarrass the church, according to church files newly unearthed as part of a lawsuit.

The internal correspondence from bishops in Wisconsin directly to Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the future pope, shows that while church officials tussled over whether the priest should be dismissed, their highest priority was protecting the church from scandal."

It just hit me like a ton of bricks why this stuff bothers me to the very core.

I don't know much about other religions, but I do know a fair amount about Christianity. And the message of Christ, as its' essence, is a good one.

Do unto others, turn the other cheek, help those less fortunate, do not turn your back on people even if they screwed up, love one another, shame unto the hypocrites and the money changers, the list goes on and on and Jesus was a fine example for people to live by.

So when these CHARLATANS come around and do evil deeds, commit these heinous crimes, and veil themselves in the guise of "Christian" in order to peddle their own self-righteous twisted versions of morality while all the while casting aspersions on all others they don't approve of, it just makes me want to vomit.

3. The Catholic church is in a world of trouble
the bright side is that the more of this that comes out, the less influence that they'll have on governments and public policy.

5. Money trumps all. The Catholic Church just fucked around in the HCR bill to good effect.
Bad, really illegal behavior means nothing in the grand scheme of affecting policy when big $$$ speaks.

4. HuffPo has a nice pic of Ratzi:
For some reason his Nazi background and insensitivity reminds me of Boner.

8. Boner is small potatoes compared to this one.
He only WISHES he could be so powerful (and much as I dislike Boner and the rest of the right wingers, I only see them by and large as stupid-evil, or quasi-evil if you will...Ratzinger is pure-evil).
