Question regarding HCR and carrying insurance on your kids until they are 26?
Do they have to be in college or living at home? Does anyone know what the new bill says?

1. I don't know. I have my son in college and it sounded good to me.
But now I wonder, like if he dropped out.

2. It shouldn't matter if he drops out. It's not connected with being in college. n/t

3. Are you 100% sure because before I tell a conservative friend's child this I want to
be 100% sure about the answer. I cannot find the number of the Bill.. Anyone know that?

5. I believe you have to be able to claim them as dependents.
Here is what the Senate bill says:

SEC. 2714. EXTENSION OF DEPENDENT COVERAGE.
(a) IN GENERAL.—A group health plan and a health
insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage that provides dependent coverage of children shall continue to make such coverage available for an adult child (who is not married) until the child turns 26 years of age. Nothing in this section shall require a health plan or a health insurance issuer described in the preceding sentence to make coverage available for a child of a child receiving dependent coverage.

Frankly, I never understood why this wasn't allowed before.
