Morning Joe is doing an Education Special -- without educators!!
Edited on Thu Mar-25-10 05:18 AM by immoderate
He announced about a half dozen of his panel of commentators, like Jeb Bush, Bloomberg, Judd Gregg, Sharpton, yada yada. No one who's ever been inside a classroom! Edit to add: besides as a student.

1. Joe just makes up what he needs as he goes along. I sometimes watch, but
often I find his show pretty lame and uninformative.

3. 1 minute in and he is playing the victim ...
"BAH, you NEVER see or hear about ALL the times republican elected officials get mean phone calls, I am confused, please tell me ..."

Mike Barnacle, playing the enabling role of bullied neighbor, goes off on a tangent about people yelling at waitresses in restaurants ... BOTH sides ... blah, blah ...

11. Well, at least Jeb's children attended a public institution for a while.
That's more than enough street cred for an education chickenhawk.

5. Yeah, well I can see that, 'cause
TEACHERS BELONG TO TEACHERS' UNIONS!!!

Nothing lower than a Unionist...commie bastards..."when I was in the House, we sought out Unionists and crushed their skulls like eggshells. Hahahaha!"

Or Scummy-words to that effect...

:sarcasm: just in case someone goes apoplectic and thinks that I said this...

6. I am so pissing mad at FL legislators right now...
and Jeb Bush is as much a part of them now as he was when he was governor. Our teachers are shitting nails with this new merit-based pay they are pushing through!!

Goodbye to gifted ESL teachers, inner-city teachers, teachers who go to very poor areas in the state just because they love the children and believe in them. WTH aren't the teachers going on strike??? As a parent I would damn sure stand out there with them on the picket lines and demand better!!!

9. I've had a number of friends that were exceptional teachers that retired early
they were so fed up with what teaching has become. And that is such a shame. They felt it has become all politics now rather than teaching students and helping them.

7. I don't understand how anybody can watch that crap!
Shows like Joe's are DESIGNED to piss you off.
It's a major flank in the Divide and Conquer wars.
And SO MANY people here fall for it.
Coming here day after day after day to complain about it.

Suckers...

8. Sharpton has been inside a classroom
and not as a student. He use to regularly visit public schools to lecture and talk to students.

12. Oh yes Joe and Mika are such experts, she with her private
school education (and I don't know what type of education Joe received in Pensacola, or wherever he is from). He probably went to a "fine" Christian school and I'm sure his children are/weren't in public schools either.

13. She went to Madeira, a prep school for girls in McLean, VA and then on to Williams
College, a very preppy "little Ivy" college in MA.

14. She was very insulated then. I don't recall hearing where she
is sending her kids to school, but as a former teacher, this wholesale bashing of public education grates on me.

16. I think they are REALLY after the teachers' union, pure and simple.
It's an old theme, been hearing it for YEARS from the right wing...

18. The bad thing is now there is a "Democrat" in the White House
who supports the same bullshit.

Teachers and public education, and in short kids, are fucked.
