Republicans feeling blue as Scott Brown win backfires
Edited on Thu Mar-25-10 08:57 AM by Ian David
Republican folk hero Sen. Scott Brown is being taunted by triumphant Democrats - and slammed by irked conservatives - after the historic health-care bill he was elected to kill was signed into law by President Obama yesterday.

“If he were a milk carton, he would be expired,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party chairman John Walsh.

Brown’s backers from the insurgent Tea Party movement want to know if they’ve been had.

“We start to wonder whether we helped a RINO (Republican in name only) get into office,” said Tea Party activist Jeffrey McQueen, who traveled from Michigan to campaign for Brown in the final days of the Jan. 19 special election that rocked the nation.

“If it wasn’t for the Tea Party movement, Scott Brown wouldn’t have gotten that seat. We expect to see a true conservative in there.”

1. "We expect to see a true conservative in there" No, you don't
You expect to see a true right-wing extremist, hell-bent on obstruction, destruction, and conserving NOTHING.

You wouldn't know a "true conservative" if he were to move into your guest room and engage you in nightly discussions at dinner.

4. LOL. Teabaggers want to know "if they've been had".
Newsflash, dumbasses. You were "had" long before you voted for Brown.

5. I don't understand why they're blaming this on Brown.
Edited on Thu Mar-25-10 09:06 AM by Renew Deal
It's not his fault either way. There was nothing he could do.

10. Some of these people would blame their sense of frustrated entitlement on
a ham sandwich if it crossed their line of vision.

12. Brown is just another Republican hypocrite.
He voted FOR the Massachusetts Health Care bill, which the federal HC strongly resembles.

13. I'll admit, I haven't lurked over at freeperland for many moons
but I'll bet that none of them fault him for this. From the moment of Scott Brown's election and on, the signing of the Senate bill had nothing to do with the Senate anymore.

Frankly, they are probably applauding the fact that the House was forced to approve the Senate bill, exactly as it was, without anything other than paper promises that the reconciliation bill would be passed by the Senate. I expect that Scott Brown will join his fellow Repukes in doing everything he can to oppose that bill, and the grand prize would be having the reconciliation bill fail completely in the Senate.

Then the Repigs will be able to campaign this fall on how stupid the Democratic Party was to support the Senate bill, with it's excise taxes and the Cornhusker kickback, which will still be law. That wouldn't have happened without Scott Brown's election, and just because a few stray teabaggers don't read at a 4th grade level enough to figure that out, it doesn't change things.

14. A "true conservative" from MASSACHUSETTS?
Have you fuckheads on the hard right forgotten the epithet you used to throw around--the People's Republic of Taxachusetts? What I want y'all to do is very simple: go to Massachusetts, find the one person who's the farthest to the right and haul him to Alabama. He'd probably be the most liberal person in the state.

Ain't no such thing as a "true" conservative, as people who currently subscribe to conservatism define the term, in politics in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Even the Republicans they have there are pretty squishy.
