Look at Eric Cantor's Statements Today Versus his Statements Made Just Yesterday
Edited on Thu Mar-25-10 01:22 PM by Emit
Why didn't he point out yesterday that his office in Richmond, Virginia had been shot at?

Eric Cantor yesterday, 03/24/10:

03/24/10 07:59 PM ET

Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told The Hill that he thinks Democratic lawmakers are feeding the public’s frenzy over the threats they’ve received by discussing them so openly with the media.

“I don’t believe that we ought to be fanning these flames like this,” he said in an interview. “And I’m very concerned on all sides. Inappropriate behavior is never condoned by anyone. I’m a bit concerned about how it’s been handled around here in a public way because I think it just tends to fan the flames.”

Eric Cantor today, March 25th, 2010:

Rep. Eric Cantor, the number two Republican in the House of Representatives, said Thursday that a bullet had been shot through a window at his district office in Richmond, Virginia. He also said he had received threatening messages.

Okay, on edit, now we have this story:

Shots fired outside Eric Cantor’s campaign office

Updated: March 25, 2010

Someone fired shots outside the office of U.S. Rep. Eric I. Cantor’s office in Richmond either this week, his office said today.

Word of the gunfire near the Republican’s Richmond office comes a day after it was revealed that someone had cut a gas line to a propane grill at the home of the brother of U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello, D-Ivy.

"We do know that there were shots fired earlier this week," said Megan Whittemore, Cantor’s deputy press secretary. The shots were fired late Monday or early Tuesday, she said.

The gunfire triggered the office’s alarm and an incident report was filed immediately. Richmond police are investigating.

"There is an ongoing investigation," Whittemore said...

UPDATE: Cantor says shot fired at campaign office building
By AP
Published: March 25, 2010
Updated: March 25, 2010

Rep. Eric Cantor says this afternoon that a gunshot was fired through a window of his downtown Richmond campaign office building either last night or two nights ago.

There were no injuries or other details immediately reported. Cantor, in an interview with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, said he doesn’t know whether the shot was random or aimed at the building.

He said he doesn’t know if anyone was in the building when the shot was fired. Richmond police are investigating, he said.

In Washington, Cantor said at a news conference that he has also received threatening e-mail, The Associated Press reported.

Cantor, in Washington, attributed the actions to his being in the House GOP leadership and being Jewish.

What did you think was going to happen--an instant recall election for Obama?
Knowing you guys, they probably did it to rack up sympathy points.

5. I was quoting the source but
His website lists it as his 'Richmond' office and gives Glen Allen, VA as the specific address. Looks like Glen Allen is a suburb of Richmond in Henrico County if we can trust Wiki.

4. Because he forgot until today that his office had just been shot at??
If his memory's THAT bad, he's too senile to be in Congress and needs to resign immediately.

6. Or was it shot just recently, say last night or this morning, after he made his comments yesterday?
From what I've read, he never indicated when this happened.

12. If it isn't SOUNDLY condemned- it's Condoned- by Them OR us.
This is a moment where we are being called to put our own attitudes/politics/suspicions aside.

This is the time to say the use of violence and intimidation is WRONG.

That should be a bi-partisan no-brainer from all people.

are we that far gone?
