I was responsible for the end of the punk era.

I was at Bacy's hall, for a Black Flag concert. Doors opened at 8. It was 8:30 and I was angry with punks, as they tried to stomp my face, the night before, at the Whiskey a gogo. I punched several of them in the face, and dropped to my knees, and crawled thru their legs. There were likely 15 of them surrounding me.

So, I yell at the group, assembled on the steps, they cannot do this to us, we paid in advance. They roared. I said, rush the door. They did. A security shot mace at us. I knocked down maybe fifty people like dominoes, and proceeded to step on all of them, to escape. The rest of the now mob, broke the door in, and started pail line shuttling the cases of beer out. They took all the fixtures off the bathroom wall. Tore all the drywall from the walls. There was nothing left of the warehouse when it was done. The riot police came, and that was that. Or was it?

Black Flag, was banned in all of LA. In short order, so were they banned in Orange County. And so were all other punk acts.

I know all too well, how gullible folks are. And how a mob can flash in a moment. And how life changes after it. And how those that partook are branded. And ostracized. That microcosm of this riot, is enough to tell me that this very easily could spiral into civil war.

Choose your steps carefully, as both sides will suffer.
